Loyalty is responsible for the strategic planning, development and execution of our MileagePlus programs and the associated partnership development and marketing Job overview and responsibilities: United Airlines is seeking talented people to join the Loyalty Data Analytics team. We are seeking creative, driven and detail-oriented individuals who enjoy tackling tough problems with data and insights. The Loyalty Data Analytics team is responsible for creating data-driven insights and innovation across MileagePlus. This position will support United's Chicago headquarters by conducting analyses on customer, MileagePlus activity, and flight and other operational data to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability for MileagePlus. The analyst will be responsible for building business acumen in the loyalty area, using SQL to create and run complex queries to pull large datasets, as well as learn and use python/pyspark to build data workflows in big data / cloud environment. The analyst will build dashboards using Spotfire and other data visualization and reporting tools. The analyst will translate data findings into insights and recommendations for business stakeholders. - Assist in ad-hoc decision support, analytics projects, and scenario analyses - Gather and organize data from various sources using SQL - Create, modify and automate reports and dashboards take ownership of reporting structure and metrics, clearly and effectively communicating relevant information to decision makers using data visualization tools such as TIBCO Spotfire - Prepare presentations for United leadership and external stakeholders - Collaborate with Enterprise Data Science, Data Engineering, and IT development teams as appropriate - Perform statistical analyses including loyalty customer campaign and promotion analytics, and build predictive models using analytical tools such as SQL, r, python, and SAS - Analyze results and prepare presentations for dissemination of insights to United leadership Required - Bachelors degree in Engineering or in a quantitative discipline such as Applied Mathematics, Statistics - Strong interest in customer and marketing analytics; strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities - Strong background and experience with SQL and relational databases, creating complex queries using tools such as Teradata SQL Assistant, Oracle SQL Developer, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or SAS - Knowledge and experience with Hadoop and big data platforms - Knowledge and experience with AWS or other cloud platforms - Programming experience, preferably in Python, pySpark Experience with one or more reporting tools such as Tableau, TIBCO Spotfire - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint - Must be detail-oriented, thorough and analytical with a desire for continuous improvements - Must be adept at juggling several projects and initiatives simultaneously through appropriate prioritization - About 4-6 weeks travel to Chicago per year is required - Must be fluent in English (written and spoken) - Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship - Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification - Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position Preferred - 2-4 years analysis experience This position is offered on local terms and conditions.
